What Are the Current Treatments for Ovarian Cancer? What Future Treatments Are They Working On?

Yes.. this is a homework question.
I’m doing a project in Bio, and I’ve looked online for the answer and just.. all the health websites and cancer sites use a lot of big words! so, in more "15 year old – 10th grader" terms… help?
Please? lol. I just don’t understand what they are saying on the sites.
and if theres a site that gives you all the same info. with less big words, that would be great too :]
THNX!

next month will be the one year anniversary of us finding out my mother had ovarian cancer. the oncology surgeon had never seen such a large tumor. it was around 13 inches, the size of a deflated football. thankfully it was able to be "resected" (cut out). the surgeon was confident he got it all out. unfortunately, a "side effect" of ovarian cancer is "ascites" (which is fluid build up in the peritoneal cavity-which is basically the gut). in this fluid was cancer cells floating around. the surgeon decided to do a very new procedure. instead of letting the cancer cells attach themselves to other organs, develop into cancer, treat with chemo later, he did an extremely risky procedure that saved her life and saved her from months of chemo and possibly death. he injected her peritoneal cavity with several chemo meds–5 liters worth!!!! put a mediport in her lower abdomen. then for the next 6 hours after her surgery he "rotated" her like a pig in the hospital bed!! the chemo coated her entire body cavity and killed all the cancer cells floating around in the fluid. for week she was on the brink of death. her lungs were filling with fluid and she was going into failure. the chemo had fried her kidneys and she couldn’t get rid of the excessive fluid. they did another surgery to mainline a dialysis port and filtered her out. 3 months later she was completley cancer free, 6 months later still cancer free and off dialysis with kidney function back, now almost 12 months later still no sign of the cancer and is more healthy now than ever before!!
