Well Actually This Isnt a Question. Its About Polycystic Ovarian Disease/syndrom?
ive read alot of questions on here about it. and a lot of you people answe the questions with FALSE answers. it upsets me because unfortunetly i have polysistic ovarian disease and it sucks. some of you say its not a disease and its curable…. lies. it is a disease and there is not cure. there are treatments that can help you but does not cure you. some of you say it is no big deal and isnt life threatening…lies. its a major deal maybe not at frist but when left untreated it becomes life threatening. it can cause other disease in your body and could kill you. i almost died back in june 06 because of it. and i am pretty sick because i cant afford treatments.this isnt something to be taken lightly because it has taken over my life and it can easily take over yours if you have it. i had to put this out there because it hurts my feelings knowing people talk about this thinking they know so much when they know nothing. i know everything there is to know about this disease. if you want to know more you can send me an email i will answer any questions you have. for all of you who share this disease with me. stay strong and make sure to get proper treatment. in just 3 years my disease has already made me extremely sick because i couldnt afford treatment.
Seriously, stop winning.
Wanna trade problems? I have M.S.
SO annoying!
I STATE here and NOW! I don’t Proclaim to being a medical Doctor and if someone asks or whatever a question I tell em seek medical attention if your having issues…
It’s not actually a disease, but a syndrome (a cluster of symptoms). That’s why it’s called Polycystic ovarian Syndrome.
No it’s not curable, and most treatments are not actually that helpful, and only treat symptoms.
Yes it can lead to serious health problems – I got cancer of the uterus from it in 2005, which luckily was caught and treated very early on.
It no longer bothers me that people don’t understand it – there is so much misinformation in the media and even from doctors that it’s no surprise. I also figure they are not with me every day and can’t see what I go through. My husband can see it, so he understands. He admits that if he hadn’t seen it himself, he would not believe it.
I have watched two of my daughters go through hell with this syndrome. This disorder is very hard to live with . There are obvious things that can be done to try and reduce the symptoms but in the end there is no cure. Losing weight for instance is very hard to achieve when you have too much testosterone hormone. Don’t be too disheartened by what other people think they know. They are the ones that are not living with the condition.
Butterfly,
I empathise with you. I reply to questions fairly regularly and I am aware of all that you say. You will note that I have three notices below all my medical answers in this forum. They are there for the very reasons that you have made your statements. It is also known by the name Stein-Leventhal syndrome and is a hormonal problem that causes women to have a variety of symptoms.Unfortunately there is not yet enough scientific evidence to prove that the condition may be inherited.I am not writing this from a teaching aspect, but from the point of view that research continues. I wish you well.
ALL ANSWERS SHOULD BE THOROUGHLY RESEARCHED, IN ANY FORUM AND ESPECIALLY IN THIS ONE. – MANY ANSWERS ARE FLAWED.
It is extremely important to obtain an accurate diagnosis before trying to find a cure. Many diseases and conditions share common symptoms.
The information provided here should not be used during any medical emergency or for the diagnosis or treatment of any medical condition. A licensed physician should be consulted for diagnosis and treatment of any and all medical conditions.
Hope this helps
