I have been having pains in my lower right quadrant. They believed it could have been my appendix but ruled that out when my blood count was normal. They then believed it could possibly be an ovarian syst. I went today to get a pelvic ultrasound and the woman spotted a large ovarian sysy on my right ovary. I still have to follow up with my doctor, but the woman said the treatment would most likely be birth control. Is this true? Has anyone gone through this before ?
I live in Michigan where medicinal marijuana has just recently became legal. I have ovarian cysts that burst and regrow every month causing me to be miserably sick because of the toxins they release. The only cure to the type of cycts I have is pain killers and birth control. I’m not about to get addicted to pain killers, and I can’t ever have birth control in my life because my father died from a blood clot along with a few other immediate family members. So not a doctor wants to prescribe that to me. So i’m an avid smoker as is and the only thing that ever helps with the sickness and pain is smoking. So I was thinking about talking to my doctor about this. But I don’t know if that is a legitimate reson even though this problem is so debilitating. Do you think I should even bother approaching my doctor about this? Oh and please refrain yourselfs from posting idiotic comments about marijuana I won’t care about anyways, you’re only wasting your time. But if you can’t help it go ahead and humor me.
okay so when i first got my period is was extremely irregular for about two years (i wouldn’t get it for up to 3 months sometimes). its regular now but whether it’s regular or not my period is HORRIBLE. yes i know it sucks for any girl but i get horrid cramps, its very heavy, i get extremely dizzy and light headed, and very fatigued. i have to take 4 ibuprofen to relieve the pain, and on the first day or two of my period i’ll bleed through a super size tampon every hour or two. also, i used to love running but i stopped and one of the reasons is because about 5-10 minutes after i stop running i get horrible cramps like my period is coming on and i have to lay down & i feel really sick. the cramps eventually subside without my period starting but i get horrible cramps. my boyfriend of 3 years and i have been sexual for about a year now and everything has been fine but today after we had intercourse i was in HORRIBLE pain for about half an hour afterwards. i had very bad pain in the pelvic region and i was nauseous. i’m fine now but every once in a while i feel a stabbing pain in my pelvic region. this has never happened before, and it scared me to death. I know i should see a doctor about this but my parents are extremely against premarital sex or anything and don’t believe i should see a gyno, so i really don’t want to tell them whats been going on. they’re against condoms, birth control, basically anything having to do with sex. Like my mom wouldn’t even let me get the cervical cancer vaccine because she believes i shouldn’t have to do anything to my reproductive organs and she doesn’t think even bringing that stuff up is appropriate. which by the way is stupid because when my mom was pregnant with my little brother she ended up having a tumor taken off of her ovary. shocker. so when i can eventually afford a doctor on my own i’d really like to go but for now i’d just like to know if anyone has any advice for me. thanks!
I am diagnosed having an ovarian cyst last month, my ob gave me a birth control pill or contraceptive, because she said it is the cure for my cyst. This month, i came to ob, the cyst go smaller.
That pill helped in my cyst, will it also prevent me from being pregnant? (i know its a birth control pill, i just wanna make sure, because it was given for my cyst, not for birth controll, im teenager, virgin.)
I’m asking this because my boyfriend rubbed his penis on my vagina with no protection, and im a little bit scared. By the way, i’m on my 2nd month of taking the pill, the brand is athea.
What do I do? A local clinic I went to had a OB/GYN with 30 years experience. He did a simple anal/vaginal exam that to him raised several red flags. He also sat with me and took an extensive background report. 2 Things my Kaiser docs have never done since my complaints began 9 months ago. They never did an anal along with the vaginal and never took and EXTENSIVE background. My Kaiser doctors came up with I had functional ovarian cysts gave me birth control and that was it. Now, i’m faced with going to them and telling them I think your wrong this new doctor said & found this. Do you think they’ll listen and pay up for the laparoscopy? They’ve found every way to avoid finding out what is really wrong with me thus far so I dunno i’m not confident in finding a cure for debilitatingg pelvic pain. The Kaiser doctors make me feel like i’m acting Neurotic or i’m a 23 year old with a drug problem who simply wants pain medication but, reality I just don’t want to be in pain & discomfort. Any help or advice would be appreciated thanks.
I’m 14, and this is my first cyst. I’ve had it now for about 4 weeks. It was diagnosed at 4.2 cm. At that time, I was just nausiated and having little to mild pain. Now, as the time goes on, the pain gets worse, I’m bloated and don’t have any appetite whatsoever, my bowel movements are painful, and pain medicine such as Naproxen Sodium and Tylenol with Codine aren’t relieving any pain. Just this morning, I was woke up by my stomach. It started to cramp up, so I rolled over, and my mouth started to water like I was going to throw up. I found out that if you swallow the saliva, you won’t throw up, so I did that, and the symptom passed. For awhile. It keeps coming back, and if I didn’t know that trick, I probably would’ve thrown up by now. Now I’m very weak, having pain that nearly spikes an 8 on that hospital pain chart, and I feel like drugging myself to die so I wouldn’t have to go through this. I have a high pain tolerance, but this is just torture.
My ObGyn wanted me to wait until my first period to start birth control, but mine shouldn’t happen until November. I can’t miss anymore school.
What should I do? I’m afraid to ask my mom to go to the ER because my aunt is a hypochondriac and anytime I think something’s medically wrong with me, I feel like I’m just complaining like she does. And my mom has work early tomorrow and she needs sleep.
Is the cyst twisting, or about to burst? Has it already burst? I don’t usually double over in pain, and haven’t yet.
Please help me. :[

It’s not appendicitis, and I was diagnosed by a CT Scan with injection and barium. They were looking for appendicitis, but my appendix was fine.
