Has anyone had ovarian cysts or known someone with them that has still successfully gotten pregnant without help ? and if so how soon after you/they started a form of treatment ?
I’ve been trying to get pregnant for a while now with no success , I just started speaking with a doctor about my symptoms ( severe pain & not getting pregnant ) and having tests done.
okay so when i first got my period is was extremely irregular for about two years (i wouldn’t get it for up to 3 months sometimes). its regular now but whether it’s regular or not my period is HORRIBLE. yes i know it sucks for any girl but i get horrid cramps, its very heavy, i get extremely dizzy and light headed, and very fatigued. i have to take 4 ibuprofen to relieve the pain, and on the first day or two of my period i’ll bleed through a super size tampon every hour or two. also, i used to love running but i stopped and one of the reasons is because about 5-10 minutes after i stop running i get horrible cramps like my period is coming on and i have to lay down & i feel really sick. the cramps eventually subside without my period starting but i get horrible cramps. my boyfriend of 3 years and i have been sexual for about a year now and everything has been fine but today after we had intercourse i was in HORRIBLE pain for about half an hour afterwards. i had very bad pain in the pelvic region and i was nauseous. i’m fine now but every once in a while i feel a stabbing pain in my pelvic region. this has never happened before, and it scared me to death. I know i should see a doctor about this but my parents are extremely against premarital sex or anything and don’t believe i should see a gyno, so i really don’t want to tell them whats been going on. they’re against condoms, birth control, basically anything having to do with sex. Like my mom wouldn’t even let me get the cervical cancer vaccine because she believes i shouldn’t have to do anything to my reproductive organs and she doesn’t think even bringing that stuff up is appropriate. which by the way is stupid because when my mom was pregnant with my little brother she ended up having a tumor taken off of her ovary. shocker. so when i can eventually afford a doctor on my own i’d really like to go but for now i’d just like to know if anyone has any advice for me. thanks!
What do I do? A local clinic I went to had a OB/GYN with 30 years experience. He did a simple anal/vaginal exam that to him raised several red flags.He also sat with me and took an extensive background report. 2 Things my Kaiser docs have never done since my complaints began 9 months ago. They never did an anal along with the vaginal and never took and EXTENSIVE background. My Kaiser doctors came up with I had functional ovarian cysts gave me birth control and that was it. Now, i’m faced with going to them and telling them I think your wrong this new doctor said & found this. Do you think they’ll listen and pay up for the laparoscopy? They’ve found every way to avoid finding out what is really wrong with me thus far so I dunno i’m not confident in finding a cure for debilitatingg pelvic pain. The Kaiser doctors make me feel like i’m acting Neurotic or i’m a 23 year old with a drug problem who simply wants pain medication but, reality I just don’t want to be in pain & discomfort. Any help or advice would be appreciated thanks.
This started about 15 yrs. ago. I was treated for endometriosis, and have had two D&Cs, know I have ovarian cysts, but no gyn in FL, MD, VA or DC seem to be able to explain the cause/cure for this. If my vagina were clockface, from 6-12 pm is red, inflamed, and when my husband enters me, it feels like a knife is slicing into me. Steroids, painkillers, valium all have no effect. Our sex life has dwindled to zilch-I no longer get aroused, knowing the only outcome will be pain. It is not a lubrication issue. Can anyone at all help? The quality of our life as a couple has suffered tremendously, and even tho my husband is very supportive, he wishes our sex life were what it once was–great! Help me please!!
I have suspected ovarian cancer and i am awaiting an appointment for blood tests and an ultrasound after xmas, my symptoms are worsening although not too bad at this current moment in time – should i go to a&e and get tested there? Is it a valid reason?
I would need to call an ambulance as i have no means of transportation.
Is it possible for one to have both ovarian cysts and appendicitis? Also if pain in the appendix area has been felt over the course of a couple weeks wouldn’t it be impossible for it to go as long as two weeks before it becomes inflammed and needing to be removed. Over this last few months I had one night where I thought it was my appendix but the symptoms went away. I noticed symptoms again about two weeks ago on and off.
Will an ultrasound show abmormalities on the appendix if it has a good chance of becoming inflammed or rupturing?
If a gynecologist prescribes an ultrasound to check for ovarian cysts can the same one be used to check the appendix or does the patient have to see a different type of doctor such as gastroenterologist to find out about the appendix?
I know that no treatment or surgery is done for ovarian cysts but is for appendicitis so I’m trying to find out if it’s worth seeing two different types of doctors or just go to one and hope that the appendix is still o.k. even if ovarian cysts are present.
I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts about five years after hysterectomy even though I didn’t have symptoms & doctor ordered kept an eye on the cysts with updated ultrasounds with the last ultrasound about three years ago. The cysts got small enough and I didn’t need further ultrasounds.
One doctor I didn’t like or agree with said to get my ovaries removed because of the history of cysts and he wouldn’t help me with why I went in there (complication from hysterectomy) and Ithink he was just trying to get more money (the wait was over 3 hours in his office).3 other doctors agreed to not take out my ovaries including my surgeon if it wasn’t cancerous as it could prevent me from going into surgical menopause. I wish there was a procedure to remove take out the cysts without removing the ovaries.
