Should I Go to ER, Ovarian Cyst Causing Pain, Pls Help!?
I was diagnosed a month ago with a 3cm ovarian cyst, right side. For 2 yrs prior my period was totally screwed up. And I was spotting for an entire year with no real period. Gyno put me on meds to start my period and said we would try treating it with bc. I’m 3 weeks into my first pack and I hurt more and more each day.
gyno put me on 800mg ibuprofen, which did absolutelt nothing, and upped it to naproxen and darvocet. About 2 weeks ago I ran out of meds and asked for a refill on darvocet. I was taking it as prescribed at 1 every 4 to 6 hrs and was still in pain. The head nurse told me 30 pills should last 30 days. When I pointed out this was one a day she said "well if it’s something that bad then you should fix the problem instead of covering it up." wtf does that mean? I was also taking a moderate pain killer and was still in pain. If it hurts that badly should I go to the ER?
now I’ve been spotting consistently for a week. I called gyno thur and I have an apt mon. But I’m in a LOT of pain and I feel like she isn’t giving me the help I need. Should I wait til mon? I have no insurance and have to pay all out of pocket.
I’ve also had a slight fever the past few days that won’t break and I feel kinda sickish but no other symptoms of illness. Could my cyst have burst?
I work 7 days a week at 2 very physical jobs and can’t afford to take time off. In fact I have to be at work setting up 600 chairs in 3 hrs. I have no more pain meds and it huuurrrrts! And I’m just laying in bed!
what should I do? ER or wait?
If your cyst burst you would definitely know! I didn’t even know I had ovarian cysts and one day while eating dinner within 2 seconds I was grabbing my stomach and lying on the ground in pain, unable to walk get up or speak. I had no idea what happened! After about 20 minutes of lying on the ground I finally made it to a phone to be taken to the ER, which I found out I had a cyst that burst. If you don’t have insurance I would wait until your appointment unless your temperature reaches 102 or above. Best of luck!
i have the same thing. last month i went ot the ER for a cyst rupture. i was in sooo much pain i couldnt walk, i couldnt cry i just wanted to die. i had to go to the er. when i got there they gave my a dose of morphine. i spent 4 hrs there got a bill for 7,000 $ an i too have no insurance. your health is more important then mony. if u feel bad, go to the ER or call your gyno for advice. good luck hun i will pray for u
