I have PCOS and there is no cure for it. Losing weight will help with the symptoms but you will alwyas have it. I dont know what she gave you for medication but if it is metformin or glucophage it will help you lose weight and keep your blood sugar down. There is a lot of stuff that goes along with PCOS so do your homework and read up on it. Stuff like your blood sugar and unsulin levels are important. you might have pain in your stomach because of a lot of cysts on your ovaries.. Good luck. Its a long road ahead of you. Nothing horriblhy badl.. but right now I am on mhy couch because of a huge cyst on my ovaries. Read up on it. Take your meds, and you will be fine. BTW losig weight with PCOS is VERY VERY hard! But you can do it. Just put your mind to it.

The first thing to concentrate on is getting rid of the PCOS. Once you have your natural balance back again, then losing weight will be much easier.

There is a school of thought that ovarian cysts are really just a symptom of underlying problems in the body, and the way to deal with them is not to attack the cyst, but to tackle the underlying problems. The way you do this is by adopting a natural holistic approach, covering areas like diet, nutrition, ph balance, and many others. The only way you can ever cure your ovarian cysts is from within by listening to what your body is trying to tell you, work with it and free yourself.

Take a look at the site below for more information & articles.

    And good luck.

You will never be "cured" from PCOS, there is no cure, though symptoms do disappear.

As another user has said, losing weight with PCOS is extremely difficult due to the insulin & hormones. However, it isn’t impossible. I was overweight by almost 100lbs, I’ve lost 80ish, still have a few more to lose.

To lose weight with PCOS, you really do need to be dedicated enough to spend a while cooking fresh, healthy foods & ready to bust your bottom in the gym!!
Once you’ve lost 10lbs, it does get a little easier & you should notice any other symptoms (excess hair, acne, etc) settle down and tend not to be as much of a problem as they may be now.

Metformin does help with losing weight, apparently, though I’ve never used it. It’s commonly used for women who have quite serious insulin problems and are at risk of developing diabetes in the near future (though that does not mean you’ve been put on it because you’re at that stage).

i know how you feel. My best friend was going through the same thing with her PCOS. She gained quite some weight due to her pills. But due to that, she asked for a different pill dosage, plus started working out, and she looks phenomenal now. she lost loads of weight.

    i hope you feel better.
