Ovarian Cyst Treatment Recommendations?

I’m 24 years old and, until about 5 months ago, I always had very regular- albeit very painful- periods. 5 months ago I developed an ovarian cyst on the right side. The next month I had another- much more painful- cyst on the left side. I have had pain in both ovaries every month since. I had an ultrasound that looked normal, but it happened to occur during a short window of time that I actually was pain-free. My gyno recommended low hormone birth control pills which I started a week ago, but I started feeling another painful cyst about two days ago.

I’m baffled as to why I have suddenly started having problems every single month! I’m hoping the current cyst is a remnant of last month’s ovulation and that once the pill makes me stop ovulating, I’ll get some relief. In the mean time, does anyone have any advice on how to deal with it? Any advice on how to get some relief? I don’t want to be on the pill forever and I want to have children eventually…. hopefully :/

Lyss, I’m sorry to say I don’t have a hard and fast answer for your problem. I have, however, sat through many a pain-filled night with my girlfriend recently, so I do have a little familiarity with it. Her symptoms were pretty much the same as yours. Changing out her birth control pill didn’t accomplish much of anything. She found some website a couple months ago that seems to have helped a lot. I know I’ve been getting to sleep the whole night, lately. Try the website below, and good luck with the problem.
