Ovarian Cancer?
I just got a call from my doctor. She found a hard mass on my ovary(not a fluid-filled cyst). She said is is highly unlikely that it is ovarian cancer because I am only 29. I do have to go for more blood work and another ultrasound in 4 weeks to see if it disappears. What are the chances of having ovarian cancer at 29. I have infertility problems(PCOS) and this was the reason for the ultrasound. Can anyone help?
Please stay on top of this. Yes, it might be cancer. It could be a very rare sarcoma, which is often mistaken for ovarian cancer. I have witnessed far too many family doctors or OB/GYN doctors really not have a clue when it comes to sarcoma (because they’ve never seen it in their practice).
The young ladies that I know that have desmoplastic small round cell tumor (an abdominal sarcoma that is often mistake for ovararine or uterine cancer)are all under the age of thirty years old, with the youngest being around 10 years old. You can thumb through some of the sites from these young patients.

Fortunately, the disease is very rare. But if there is a slight chance that you have DSRCT it is imperative to treat it early.
Good luck.
