I’m not sure by what you mean "what happens." I was diagnosed with 4th Stage Ovarian Cancer and had a debulking surgery then started chemotherapy and am now deciding whether to try maintenance chemo on a monthly basis or going to a hormone treatment plan. Unfortunately, the chances of Ovarian Cancer not returning are less than 20%. Things are a lot better if it can be caught early. I guess I’d need to know what you are really wondering about to be more helpful.

as a rough overview this will depend on what stage the cancer is at. For low stages ie, one’s that have been caught early, the overies are usually removed sometimes with the uterus as well. Chemotherapy may also be used to kill any remaining cells left in the body around the site of the primary tumour, and sometimes radiotherapy to treat the lymphnodes around the ovaries to ensure there is no spread to other parts of the body via the lymph system. I can’t answer any specifics on the individual case as all treatment scheduals vary depending on the advancement and type of cancer present. Hope that helps.
