How Will I Know When My Ovarian Cyst Ruptures as Far as Symtpoms?

Ihave a 2cm ovarian cyst. Go back for a ultra sound in a few weeks to watch it. Its very painful and I am off work so I am wondering when I will know or what I will feel when it ruptures if at all.

Pain. Intense pelvic pain. When one of mine ruptured, I couldn’t even move. Luckily it only lasts for about 30 minutes depending on the cyst. You’ll know!
It felt like everything in that general area seized. My vagina, cervix, uterus, ovaries and even my rectum. If you start feeling this, take some ibuprophen, sit and wait for the pain to subside. I had some nausea as well. My nurse told me she’s had women who have had to pull off the highway because it was so intense. I don’t want to scare you, but just prepare you.
Another thing – it’s a good idea to inform your doctor after you think it’s ruptured, they’ll want to get you in for an ultrasound.

More than likely you will experience extreme lower abdominal pain on the side where the cyst is, you may also experience nausea and vomitting and a fever if there is an infection. If it does happen the best bet would be to go to an emergency department, sometimes ovarian cyst ruptures need surgical repair. Also if your cyst is on the right side and you are experiencing these pains, it could also be appendicitis. Be sure to tell the ER physician (if you need to go) that you have a cyst and that will more than likely be what they look for first.

I believe it feels like a painful period, lots of cramping and bleeding. At least for me it did. Good luck and God bless.
