How Will a Ruptured Ovarian Cyst Effect the Menstrual Cycle and Is It Common to Last Longer Than a Week?

this is my first cycle since the ovarian cyst ruptured and I am wondering why it has lasted longer than usual. Is this harmful (ie: need surgery?)

the behaviour of the menstrual/ovarian cycle will depend on what happened after the rupture, eg did you have to have emergency surgery etc…. But usually , since the mensrual cycle is controlled by an interplay of hormones in your body , a lot of which are contributed by the ovary, it is not uncommon to notice some slight variations in both duration and volume of bleed, also in cycle lenght.

Dont be alarmed observe the character of the period and see your Gynaecologist
