There is no "cure" for cancer. There is treatment, with the goal of remission, but it usually comes back. Ovarian cancer is one of the hardest cancers to treat, with a 70% rate of recurrence even with successful treatment. I was diagnosed in 2006, but I refused to have a hysterectomy because I was only 23 and still wanted to have children. So I had my affected ovary removed, leaving the other intact. I had 6 months of chemotherapy, and went into remission. I had a baby in 2009, and the cancer came back this year. I just had a total hysterectomy 3 weeks ago. Even so, I’m STILL not in the clear. It could come back in my lymph nodes, colon, liver, brain, anywhere. So if your doctor recommends surgery, GET IT.
Perhaps you haven’t been paying attention, but there is no such thing as a "cure" for cancer. You have surgery to remove the affected area, chemotherapy and/or radiation to shrink what’s left or hopefully kill off anything you missed, and hope to go into remission.
