My sister, whom I refer to a lot because she went through hell, had stage 4 ovarian cancer. The idiot she had for a Dr said she had endometriosis, There is a lot to this saga but I’m going to give you the outcome. Yes, it can be cured. She went to Boston. I think Boston has the best doctors in our state. They discovered the cancer and gave her 6 mo to live. However, they also did surgery on her, ‘She was cut from the sternum to her pelvis because her abdomen was so huge. When they cut there, a large amount of fluid poured out of her body. 3 tumors were found on the ovaries. Well these wonderful Doctors also explored and found cancer of the gall bladder, spleen, (both removed) and cancer of the lower part of her stomach and part of her intestines. They also scraped all the other organs in case they held any cancer cells. The surgery took 5 hrs. I think they thought because she would die, they experimented with the scraping and taking off a thin layer. That was 5 yrs ago. Her Dr said he never knew anyone that survived stage 4 ovarian cancer but she did. She is called a miracle patient by all the Dr’s that worked on her and they said it was a definitely a miracle. My sister said it was God who got her through this. All her Dr’s agreed. She was prayed over before surgery.. So survival is possible. Her case was written up in a medical journal. I don”t know which one.but she is doing great and so grateful to the doctors and of course God.
Never give up hope. Where there is life, there is hope. I will never again in my life think that because someone has advanced cancer there is no hope. She had the chemo after surgery and yes her hair fell out but as soon as the chemo was over with, it began growing back. Eat foods high in vit B, C A to boost your health and help you during your healing time. Take things that will give your immune system a boost. Stay away from junk foods because they have no nutritional value. You don’t have to do anything to get that cancer. If you have it, it’s becuase you have the BRACA 2 gene which is the gene responsible for ovarian cancer. You were born with it so stop blaming yourself. You biggest symptom will be pain. FYI, the reason my sister had so much fluid is because the tumors were so big, they were putting pressure on her nodes and preventing the fluid to be released. This is what her Dr told her. If you would like to speak with her, I will give you her e-mail address but not here. You will have to e-mail me. If you do chose to question her, I will ask her first if it’s ok. If you Dr wants to do a hysterectomy like my sister had, let him/her do it. she is so blessed with her healing and you can be too. I wish you the best. Let me know you’re decision. God bless you. I hope all goes well for you.
usually your doctor will recommend removing the ovaries to stop the spread of the cancer into your other reproductive organs, it’s best to do that rather than chemotherapy. if you go through chemo odds are your hair will fall out, it also makes you very sick. cancer is actually just a mutation of your regular cells and anything can cause it, diet, environment, activity levels, genetics, etc. you need to eat healthy and exercise, the healthier your body is the more likely it is to try to fight the disease and the easier it will be to recover from treatment.
Slight more then half of women fully survive ovarian cancer these days.
And as far as the other questions, there is not clear answer to any of these.
This cancer can be cured, but rarely if it is late stage and by the time you have symptoms it is late stage. What food you eat or don’t eat has nothing to do with this. No cancer makes your hair fall out. If it is late stage it will probably prevent you from having children. No one does anything to get cancer. I don’t know what other symptoms you should be concerned with you don’t mention which ones you have.
